Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is a British born American singer on guitar who took as the lead vocalist for The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. The group was admired for their provocative lyrics and punk-inspired style. The band didn't have much of a following within their home country of the United States. However, the group's popularity increased abroad, particularly in Japan. Ford's solo career in heavy metal was successful after the 1979 group break-up. After receiving voice classes, Ford launched her debut solo album "Out for Blood" followed by "Dancin at the Edge". The two albums didn't get much attention and Ford was largely absent from the rock world for several years. Her smashing hit, 'Lita came out in 1989. the single 'Kiss me Deadly' as well as the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' were both huge success. However, the popularity of her career was not lasting and over the course of several years she went under the radar. The album 'Black' was released in 1995, as well as 'Wicked Wonderland just 15 years later, she returned. In 2016, she released her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
