Ali MacGraw

Elizabeth Alice MacGraw better known as Ali MacGraw is an award-winning American actress, model, writer and activist for animal rights. Her films comprise Love Story (1970), Goodbye Columbus ( 1969) and The Getaway ( 1972). The daughter of an artistic family living in New York she wished to be a part of the arts. In the beginning she was employed as an photographer's assistant. Later on she shifted her focus to modeling and directing. MacGraw was noticed in two of her films and won the Golden Globe Award for Most Popular Newcomer. MacGraw's Love Story from 1970 was an enormous success that earned the world to her in addition to being an Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe Award. After only three movies, she was voted the Top female debut at the box office in the world. In 1972 her hand-footprints and autograph were engraved at Grauman's Chinese Theater. She also appeared in The Getaway Convoy Players TV Miniseries The Winds of War, and other films. Moving Pictures, her 1991 autobiography, was released. MacGraw got married to three different people.
