Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer, and songwriter for many years. Raised by her mother throughout the USA she had to face many racial slurs that made her feel being unwelcome. After she participated in school contests and received high praise for her singing at the age of 9 the young girl started to gain confidence. This experience did not just help her gain confidence but changed the direction she was heading in her life. She was a graduate of the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. She was 23 when she had her first Broadway performance with Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her debut in the film You've got Mail, were her biggest breaks. The biggest accomplishment of her career occurred in the role of The Lady Of The Lake on Spamalot's initial Broadway production. In addition to being the only actress to receive the Tony Award, but her performance was also praised by the critics. In the following year, when she was Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC, she gained greater recognition. She is known as a performer and has also released a single as well as an extended play. Also, she's an activist and works hard in the fight for LGBT rights.
